Underline was founded in 2019 with a singular mission: to ensure the vibrancy of our nation through building intelligent community infrastructure in a socially equitable manner. We work with American communities to design, finance, and construct open access fiber-optic networks. These networks are critical to secure internet access that’s fast, affordable, and fair. As open access networks, this infrastructure is also the essential foundation for distributed healthcare services, new wireless solutions, and resilient infrastructure including modernized water systems and responsible energy creation. Our first two projects are in Colorado Springs and Fountain, Colorado.

The Community Marketing Manager will support the execution of our grassroots marketing and engagement efforts, promoting local awareness and adoption of the Underline network. This individual will be responsible for recruiting and managing local champions, engaging with HOAs and other community organizations as unpaid affiliates, planning and executing local events, as well as supporting an assortment of other campaigns and marketing activities.

• You are a true believer in the social, economic, and environmental benefits of bringing intelligent infrastructure to communities

• Help residents (and small businesses) understand the value of the Underline offerings by executing a programmatic approach to grassroots marketing
• Ideate, plan, and execute events to drive interest in Underline—from neighborhood block parties to larger events with a variety of local partners 
• Formalize and run the “Champions” (volunteers) program, recruiting and training residents to conduct their own grassroots outreach, post on social media etc.
• Develop new grassroots relationships focused on supporting network adoption 
• Research community habits, trends, opportunities, and challenges, and offer recommendations on how to best engage with a variety of residents and businesses within the community
• Some after-hours and weekend availability will be required

• 5+ years in roles that include community engagement, grassroots marketing, strategic campaigning 
• Experience with event management
• Relationships within Colorado Springs and Fountain

• Experience working in a startup or small business environment
• Experience working on civic and/or mission-based projects for communities 
• Experience in traditional marketing and sales roles
• Spanish language proficiency
