Underline was founded in 2019 with a singular mission: to ensure the vibrancy of our nation through building intelligent community infrastructure in a socially equitable manner. We work with American communities to design, finance, and construct open access fiber-optic networks. These networks are critical to secure internet access that’s fast, affordable, and fair. As open access networks, this infrastructure is also the essential foundation for distributed healthcare services, new wireless solutions, and resilient infrastructure including modernized water systems and responsible energy creation. Our first two projects are in Colorado Springs and Fountain, Colorado.

• Assist in designing, building, and maintaining SD-WAN automation for configuration and operation of community networks
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and back-end infrastructure
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available network solutions across a hybrid, muilti-cloud environment
• Develop and implement infrastructure as code for networking teams, allowing for authoritative and actionable standards across networking devices and networks.
• Utilize coding skills to automate infrastructure deployments across multiple data centers and cloud platforms.
• Partner and collaborate with other teams, including software developers, application engineers, and infrastructure team to design and support cloud systems
• Assist in designing and building private cloud infrastructure
• Develop and maintain technical network diagrams, documentation, and associated processes pertaining to the configuration of the cloud network.
• Assist in maintaining AWS environment and apps using Terraform and Ansible
• Direct hands-on experience leading the design, development, and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands-on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage, and virtualization experience
• Assist in ensuring security and compliance for community networks, perimeter, and internal services 
• Support end-users with workstation deployment, maintenance and compliance
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on our network as needed
• Provide IT support on an ad hoc basis for our regional offices

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science / Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of domain experience in the field of Cloud infrastructure
• 2+ years of technical expertise and strong working knowledge of IP internetworking, LAN switching, WAN and network security
• Technology experience, including IaaS/PaaS (Azure or Amazon Web Service), infrastructure automation/orchestration technologies (e.g. Chef, Puppet, BladeLogic), server, storage, high availability architecture, and infrastructure transformation from strategy to design and implementation
• Scripting and/or coding skills (Examples include but are not limited to: Java, Python, CloudFormation, Terraform, Powershell, Bash)
• Hands-on experience with Continuity of Operations/Disaster Recovery architecture and planning
• Knowledge of NFV and SDN products, technologies, architectures.
• Programming aptitude in Python, Java scripts, API, SOAP, Ruby, PHP.
• Experience with API development based on JSON, XML.
• Experience developing applications for Linux
• Familiarity with systems configuration management, CI automation, or test automation
• Familiarity with Linux administration and tuning and Linux networking
• Experience with Docker container technology and Kubernetes container orchestration
• Experience with Ansible
• Strong knowledge of Security, Threats, and Vulnerabilities.
• Expert experience with Networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL or related).
• Strong knowledge of networking and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, DNS, TCP/IP, IPSEC)
• Working knowledge of source control systems, preferably Git
